Update your wheels – backbending workshop with Marty

Backbends are perhaps the most challenging, but also the most rewarding category of postures in Yoga.  Not only can backbends create great posture, health and vibrancy, they can be fun and empowering.  In the full expression of a backbend like urdhva dhanurasana, upward facing bow or wheel pose, there is a sense of great power, freedom and expansion.
This kind of expression relies on great foundations.
In this general-intermediate level workshop, we will break down and refine the actions required in backbends, especially urdhva dhanurasana.  By going back to the foundations and understanding them better, you’ll establish greater strength and confidence to find a fuller and more free expression in your wheel pose.  This will enable you to explore different variations of the pose and transitions into and out of it.
This workshop is for you if:
-You are practicing wheel pose and want to find more strength and freedom in it, and to be able to begin to explore different variations.
-You have a good expression of your backbend in camel and dhanurasana, feel you have the strength for wheel pose but can’t yet quite push up.
Marty acknowledges that backbends can be tough going.  You can expect this workshop to be information rich as well as well paced and spaced so that you can get the most out of it.  Please book online or email us at info@brisbaneyogaspace.com.au
