A Mandala is a sacred geometric symbol representing the all-encompassing universe and is known in Sanskrit as ‘sacred circle’. As circles appear in nature (e.g. sun, moon, flowers) the mandala is believed to connect us to the natural world, representing unity and the cycle of life.
A Mandala Vinyasa mirrors this sacred geometry as our bodies spiral 360 degrees around the mat. It is a playful and dynamic practice that opens the gateway to our physical layer. Softly flowing through the poses to the rhythm of the breath, we create a connection between specific areas of the body, the related element and its corresponding chakra.
The class begins and closes with softer Yin postures to compliment the subtle and physical body. Introspection is the key to access subtle aspects of self, such as the nature inside of us. The intention is to heal our first four energy centres, which represents the surrender of ego and transformation into a state of allowing and trust.
During this immersion, we will briefly explore the archetypes of each element: earth, water, air, and fire. Then, as we practice, delving deeper into the element of fire. Join us and take this opportunity to release all that no longer serves you and create space to embody creativity, passion and transformation.
